I have been productive in my exercise Tues. and Wed. One of the big things for me is variety. Yesterday I did an aerobic DVD that got my heart rate going and today I did an hour of Pilates working on more of the toning but at a lower intensity level. Below is some information that I liked from the N-Lighten Nebraska website. I hope that all of you have a great end to 2008. I am planning to be at home tonight. Tim Brehm had to work tonight and Lisa is in Kansas City for a church related activity, so Amy decided not to have a get together this year. I think that I will probably watch a movie. Thanks again Sara for starting this site! I was thinking today of how at one time you considered going in to a field such a Sports medicine. Now you are acting as a motivational influence for your family for fitness! I think that is so cool!
Intensity, duration and frequency of exercise are all factors to think about in our exercise programs. A change in one (or all) of the three things can make your fitness plan more effective or help you to take that next step. In order to ramp up your fitness plan, you have to either increase how hard you are working (intensity), extend the amount of time you are spending on the activities (duration), or increase how often you perform the activities (frequency), or a combination of more than one of these factors.
Using this concept will help you to see results and will also give you some variety in your work-outs. Becoming bored is one of the main hurdles people face in staying committed to fitness. But, be careful to allow some time for rest and to work in these changes gradually so you don’t become sore or injured. A. Riehl, A Real Motivated Nebraskan Thanks to All of YOU!
